Department of Military and Veterans" Affairs - Homeland Security and Emergency Management
Mission
The Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (DHS&EM) continued to support state and local community disasters. In addition, a significant amount of disaster assistance work was conducted and completed from the 2018 November Cook Inlet Earthquake and 2020 December Southeast Storm disaster. The Division continues to support the Department’s rural operations initiative by assisting communities with disaster response, assistance, and hazard mitigation planning efforts to ensure hazard mitigation projects receive federal funding.
