Target #1: Increase outreach and engagement on broadband topics with tribal entities, local tribal governments, regional corporations and other federally recognized federal organizations..
Outreach to and collaboration with local governments, tribes, tribal entities, and regional corporations helps the Alaska Broadband Office better understand the specific needs of unserved (less than 25Mbps download and 3Mbps upload) and underserved (less than 100Mbps download and 20Mbps upload) communities in Alaska and to ensure that funding and efforts to improve broadband access in the state are coordinated and complementary. The scope is to evaluate the fraction percentage to have a level set against variable group count (i.e. Outreach to 437 recognized Native entities at 100% with 94% success rate). The Alaska Broadband Office will be working with and tracking and reporting on the efforts by the Rasmuson Foundation and their subgrantees to identify underserved populations and improve broadband access and digital equity. Outreach events are targeted to reach people from varied demographics including those living in households, incarcerated, rural communities, people with language barriers, and/or disabled, aging, veterans, and minorities.
