Certification totals depend primarily on agency hiring trends and training capacity at statewide academies. The metric reflects APSC`s continued enforcement of training and certification standards for all categories of law enforcement officers under its jurisdiction. An additional 37 officers participated in seven Mental Health Trust-funded events totaling 1,014 officer hours. Training activity decreased from FY2024 due to limited staff availability and temporary funding delays but remained consistent with long-term averages. APSC continues to prioritize advanced and in-service training that enhances officer competency, including crisis intervention, leadership, and investigative instruction. Two cases were pending hearings with the Office of Administrative Hearings at year-end. Cases often require multiple years to complete due to criminal proceedings or appeals. The Council continues to prioritize the timely and fair resolution of misconduct investigations to uphold public confidence in law enforcement certification and maintain accountability across all agencies.
