Target #2: 5% increase over the previous year in the number of hours of training officers received through APSC sponsorship.
In FY2024, APSC sponsored 712 officers across 48 advanced and in-service training events for a separate total of 23,298 hours of training. The Mental Health Trust Authority Authorized Receipts grant funds were utilized to sponsor 2,103 officers in six training events and delivered 10,334 officer-hours of training in FY2024. Target #1: Process all misconduct investigations as required by the Administrative Procedures Act.
During FY2024, the council opened 30 new misconduct or disqualification investigations or cases and closed 27 cases. Thirteen cases were resolved in FY2024, with a revocation or disqualification action or were surrendered. As of October 16, 2024, APSC had 65 ongoing cases. These cases are in various stages of investigation or administrative action (i.e., pending criminal convictions, discovery, court hearings, council action, and/or superior court appeals). APSC currently has one case pending hearing with the Office of Administrative Hearings.
