Performance Detail


A: Result -Graduates are employed in an occupation related to their training.
    Target #1: At least 90 percent of Alaska Vocational Technical Center (AVTEC) long-term graduates are employed in their area of training.

Methodology: The AVTEC Career Counselor maintains contact with graduates from Council on Occupational Education (COE) programs for one year following completion of training to gather employment information. This information is reported to COE, the national accrediting council for AVTEC. Placement data lags by one year and is available each July of the following year of completion.
Analysis of results and challenges: Per the Council on Occupational Education (COE), accreditation standards placement rates are not finalized until December of the calendar year following the final graduation of the fiscal year. Therefore, students graduating in FY2025 placement rates are not considered finalized until December 2026. Currently, 87 percent of students are employed in their area of study.

Methodology: Data for each student is maintained in a student database system.
Analysis of results and challenges: The Alaska Vocational Technical Center (AVTEC) has maintained national accreditation through the Council on Occupational Education (COE) since 1997. The COE accreditation standard requires 60 percent of students complete the program, and AVTEC far exceeds that standard.
