A: Result - Maximize available funding for crime victim compensation |
Target #2: Negotiate settlements on 100% of all medical bills in excess of $2,500.00.
Percent of Medical Bills Negotiated
Analysis of results and challenges: Analysis of results and challenges: In FY2019, there were 30 negotiated medical bills and a 100% success rate in negotiating with medical providers. This resulted in savings of $316,229. This was a slight increase from the previous fiscal year 2018 savings of $311,150. In FY 2020 there were 14 negotiated medical bills and a 100% success rate in negotiating with medical providers. This resulted in savings of $347,705.32. This was an increase from the previous fiscal year 2019. The Violent Crimes Compensation Board continues to achieve a consistently high success rate in negotiating with medical providers. |

Average Number of Days to Resolution
Analysis of results and challenges: Analysis of results and challenges: The length of time taken for a claim to be processed and be taken to the Board for approval or denial has increased during the past two fiscal years. The increase in FY 2020 was caused by staff turnover and measures are being implemented to lower the length of time. |
